Commander General of the Dubai Police His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim praised the achievements of Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) during his recent official visit and tour of the center. The visit was aimed at enhancing the existing joint relations between Dubai Police and DSC.

Lieutenant General Dhahi reviewed DSC’s strategic plans and statistical programmes that cover all economic, social and demographic sectors in Dubai, which DSC prepares as part of mission to provide statistical information that supports planning processes, decision making and the business community.

Lieutenant General Dhahi also reviewed the e-Statistics System, considered as one of the pioneering electronic systems in the statistical field globally. The e-Statistical System provides users with specific databases on economic, demographic, and social surveys and censuses conducted by the Center. The system currently covers statistical registry reports of 13 departments and institutions, and within one year, 100 sources of statistical data will be connected to the system.

“I thank all staff working towards the success of DSC. Personally, I’m interested in statistics, and in Dubai Police we are keen to follow up statistical activities to become aware of the demographic and social characteristics, in addition to aspects that have a positive or negative effect on people's lives such as divorce, unemployment, high prices and other important matters in life,” said Lieutenant General Dhahi.

His Excellency Arif Obeid Al Muhairi, the Executive Director of DSC, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi for his visit, adding that it showed his interest in statistics and the keenness to make decisions based on sound scientific foundations.

Dr Mohammed Murad Abdulla, Director of the Decision Support Center of Dubai Police; Tariq Yousuf Al Janahi, Director, Corporate Excellence and Support: Afaf Ahmed Buossaiba, Acting Director, Population and Social Statistics; Mr. Ahmed Ali Al Dushti, Director of Information Technology at the Center, and Mr. Juma Al Hosani Manager, Economic Statistics, attended the tour.
