- A tribute to feminine style, intelligence & sophistication
Following a heated two month competition, LG, a global leader and technology innovator in the global flat panel display market, announced the winner of their ‘New Scarlet Face Hunt’ campaign at a glamourous red carpet finale held at the Atlantis Palm Jumeriah . Andreea Rizan receives the honour of fronting LG’s year long New Scarlet LCD TV campaign, having been narrowed down from an original pool of over 250 women. In addition to her contract with LG, Rizan receives numerous prizes including; a 42inch New Scarlet LCD TV, a New Scarlet Home Theater, an LG mini-notebook and an LG Arena (LG-KM900) mobile phone in addition to a host of other prizes.
Launched in May, the competition set out to find the woman who best embodies the New Scarlet LCD TV values; a heady combination of beauty, sophistication and intelligence. After having been shortlisted to 50 women, 6 finalists were selected through set process by LG and votes by the general public at Mall of Emirates and via LG’s website. The competition then culminated in a scintillating grand finale last night with Andreea Rizan selected as the winner by a judging panel. Finalists were adjudged against several criteria including; consumer votes, directors choice, achievement coaching, Neuro-linguistic programming and etiquette training.
“I am extremely excited about the interest we have received from both participants and voters alike in our search for the new face of Scarlet,” stated Mr. H.S. Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE, “This demonstrates the level with which our customers want to be part of the LG experience – and what better way to do so than select the woman they best see fit to carry on the New Scarlet brand.”
As a gesture of gratitude to society LG promised to donate one dirham for every public vote received to the Dubai Autism Centre. In total over 18,400 votes were recived, however instead of paying the amount generated through votes, LG extended its support to the centre, upping the total amount donated to AED50,000 Renowned Indian artist Seema Kohli was also commissioned to complete an ‘Evolution of Modern Woman’ painting to commemorate the occasion, which was auctioned on the night for AED40,000, generating additional proceeds for Dubai Autism Centre.
Commenting on her collaboration with LG, Seema Kohli stated;“I am privileged to be presented with this opportunity to blend a world of colors into One: the colors of my paintings, the colors of LG Scarlet screen, the colors displayed by the contestants for the New Scarlet face. Most of all, all these colors are going to the benefit of the Dubai Autism Centre, to autistic children who experience the world in much more color definition than we do.”
“The ‘New Scarlet Face Hunt’ campaign recieved an overwhelming amount of public interest and we wanted to find a way to thank people for their particiapation by giving back to the community,” stated Mr. H.S.Paik.
In keeping with LG's philosophy of combining advanced technology with stylish and sophisticated designs, the New Scarlet LCD TV's unique scarlet red colour and ultra slim shape makes it an innovative fashion brand in its own right. Mr. Ki Wan Kim, CEO, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company stated; “The LG New Scarlet LCD TV is a demonstration of cutting edge technology at its best. It is the first LCD TV to feature Bluetooth connectivity - allowing you to easily enjoy the pictures taken from your mobile phone -in turn enabling greater compatibility with mobile phones, headsets, notebooks & PCs. This combined with a 1080p full HD picture, 39.7mm slim design and upto 75 per cent energy saving, defines the New Scarlet as the crowning combination of style and technology.”
