Batelco Staff Honoured for Exam Success

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading Telecommunications Company actively encourages staff members to participate in educational programmes to further their qualifications. The Company invests significantly to ensure that employees are kept up to date with current applications and technologies and Batelco staff regularly attend a wide variety of courses either at Batelco Training Centre in Hamala, at leading institutes in the Kingdom, or overseas depending on the nature of the requirement.
Furthermore, high achieving staffs are recognised for the successful completion of final exams. In keeping with this, two staff members who received their MBA’s and one employee who received a Master of Science qualification were honoured by Batelco Chief Executive Officer Peter Kaliaropoulos.
The three employees are Global Service Manager Fadhel Al Saffar, Training Officer Ayoub Al Sairafi and Training & Development Executive Naser Al Hakam.
Mr. Al Saffar achieved distinction in his MBA from University of Glamorgan for his dissertation ‘Consumer’s Perceptions for Long-Term Relationships in a Growing Competitive Marketplace in Bahrain’. Having joined Batelco following his graduation in 1985, Fadhel worked initially in the International Switching Testing Centre before joining the Networks Department as a supervisor. He has held his current role since 1999.
Mr. Al Sairafi, who joined Batelco in 1985 as a technical trainee has held his current position of PBX Training Officer since 1998. The topic of his MBA, completed through University of Glamorgan, is ‘Batelco E-Learning – How did Batelco approach the e-learning programmes’.
Mr. Al Hakam achieved a Master of Science in Human Resources from De Paul University – Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Naser joined Batelco in 1977 as a technical trainee and was selected as a Telecommunication Lecturer at Batelco Training Centre in 1991. In 2007 he became a Training and Development Executive and completed his degree in 2008.
Mr. Kaliaropoulos congratulated the three employees for their efforts in completing their respective qualifications while diligently carrying out their full time jobs at Batelco.
“I am always impressed by staff that put in countless hours of study in their free time while holding down demanding jobs. Such dedication is to be admired,” he said.
Batelco Senior Manager Human Resources Development, Kamal Bahraini, also attended the event which was held in Batelco’s Board Room at Hamala Headquarters.
