Snug, Colorful, and Irresistible Define Italian Clothier’s
Cool Weather Offering

Despite the weather, UAE trend setters are buying must have items for their winter wardrobes now such as jersey dresses, layered striped sweaters, and cargo pants.

Snug, colourful, and an irresistible source of temptation characterises the new United Colors of Benetton winter 2008 collection, says Anil Nair, Business Manager for Benetton in the UAE.

“Benetton is famous for its winter collection, and those with a keen eye for fashion who crave something different after a long summer are always the first in store buying the new pieces,” Nair added.

The New Woman collection responds to the desire for something new. The feature item is a knitted overcoat made from luxury materials which clings to the body and compliments knee-length skirts and pants.

Military is back but not as we know it. Sweet Military features new tender green short jackets, parkas and cargo pants in silky cottons, and soft skirts, dresses, crossover knits, and jackets in wash-tempered leather.

The Hot Road Folk collection includes full, flared skirts and jersey dresses. Jackets are short and belted, and for the more adventurous – leather biker style. Tops are designed with a contrasting mix of pop motifs and romantic flowers in sunset and smokey shades.

When the cool weather arrives bright colors emerge and knitwear becomes a must. The Box North Pole collection features the pieces for which Benetton is famous. The latest trends in overwear are chunky knits sewn like fabric, and layered, striped sweaters over the essential pair of jeans. Tutu skirts and flared, wool dresses satisfy the cheekier among us.

For men, the Montreal Metropole Du Quebec collection features Parisian chic and hi-tech simplicity. The new look for the office is jersey and wool knits featuring tiny patterns and stripes complimented by corduroy, tweed, and Prince of Wales check, jackets and trousers.

The sports loving man will find the essential easy to wear casual pieces in the Le Mariniers Du Nova Scotia collection. Featuring hooded pullovers teamed with pants and jeans in heavier fabrics in the shades of the earth and the ocean with occasional touches of orange and purple.

The children’s collection – inspired by the individuality of the little people who wear it – is designed for the needs of children, in a range of different, fresh and always fashionable styles.

The girl’s collection features the fun of sparkles, animal prints and polka-dots in autumn shades, tartan and denim minis worn over leggings with trompe l’oeil t-shirts, and colourful pullovers under polished down jackets. The baggy trousers and figure-shaped wool overwear, light knits with corduroy details, handmade knitted jackets and faux fur-trimmed hoods will keep the warmth in.

For the boys, everyday classics in lots of colours, 70s style tracksuits in two tone schemes are perfect for play. Tartan blazers, striped and diamond-patterned pullovers, nautical cabin jackets in dark blue, camo trousers with touches of red are for those who like to be different. Bomber jackets lined with flannel and trimmed with faux fur are designed for the little mountain man who’s not afraid of the cold.

Benetton’s new winter collection is now available in Dubai at the Deira City Centre, Mall of Emirates, and Jumeirah Centre stores, and in Abu Dhabi at Al Raha Mall.
