Energy Management Services (EMS), the first company in the Middle East to provide energy management solutions, today announced it has qualified as a Green Building Sustainability (GBS) consultant for EHS, the Environmental Health and Safety regulatory arm of Dubai World, one of the largest holding companies in the world.
Established since 1991, EMS uses its energy savings expertise to define, promote and deploy sustainability projects and energy efficiency services for Dubai World.
EHSnamed Energy Management Services as one of its qualified green building consultants following its success on more than 60 current developments throughout the Middle East including Sama Dubai’s Yiti Resort in Oman, Waterfront Dubai, Dubai Lagoon, Connection Towers by Danat Abu Dhabi, as well as key EMAAR and Nakheel properties.
Khaled Bushnaq, Chief Executive Officer of EMS, said: “Working with EHS is an important milestone for EMS. We will aim to create value for the conglomerate and help them achieve a sustainable living and working environment. Our association with this significant global partner will help advance Dubai on the world stage, ensuring the emirate continues to drive energy efficient solutions as part of its mandate to mitigate the region’s overall carbon footprint.”
Other key drivers that positioned EMS as the qualified choice for EHS were its status as the founding member of Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC), a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the UN Global Compact initiative. EMS also boasts a team of highly competent certified energy managers and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professionals.
Providing a full range of energy, water and environmental solutions including smart property solutions (SPS), renewable energy, water management, GAS solutions, power solutions, development of clean development mechanism (CDM), EMS offers environmental and sustainable consultancy and national energy management programmes to the residential, leisure and institutional sectors throughout the region.
