•  Aspiring sports leaders may register through HBMPSLDCs website until July 22, 2008

 
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Program for Sports Leadership Development, an innovative leadership program designed to develop sports future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of Dubai, has announced that it will open registration for prospective candidates of the program tomorrow (Sunday, June 22, 2008).
 
The HBMPSLD also announced that aspiring future sports leaders may submit their applications online through the newly launched website (www.dubaisportleaders.ae). Online registration will be available until July 22, 2008.
 
“We are exhausting all possible channels to reach out to all potential sports leaders and encourage them to participate in this groundbreaking initiative. Allowing them to register online will help streamline the process of selecting the best candidates for the program,” said H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Vice President of Dubai Sports Council and Chairman of the Executive Office of Dubai Sports Council.
 
The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Program for Sports Leadership Development, initiated by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, has been designed primarily according to the unique sporting environment of Dubai; aiming to develop future national leaders by integrating sports’ values and ethics.
 
“The HBMPSLD represents a new era in the development of sports leaders in the country, utilising the latest best practices, theories, technology and business models in creating a comprehensive training module for the candidates. I urge the members of our youth, especially those sports-inclined individuals, to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to develop their leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to the progress of Dubai and the UAE,” said Adel Al Shared, Director General of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Program for Sports Leadership Development.
 
The HBMPSLD is another landmark initiative for the Dubai Sports Council, which has already instituted various reforms and programs since its establishment in 2005. It primarily seeks to strengthen sports regulations and develop the administrative and financial capabilities of sports leaders from both the club level and within larger sporting organisations.
 
The key objectives of the HBMPSLD include ensuring a long-term systematised leadership development in sports; initiating changes for a progressive and productive sport society under the ‘Change Agents Program’; convening an elite group of sports leaders to help participants in the program benefit from their experiences; sharing insights about individual leadership styles and values; and helping Dubai Government to successfully implement the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.
