Showcasing a range of environmentally-responsible initiatives, ENOC’s participation at Blue Fair, an event featuring environmental projects from across the region, was met with tremendous success.
ENOC’s participation was part of its overall CSR programme and is in keeping with its vision of being the reliable Energy Partner of Choice in each sector in which it operates.
The three-day event held from June 4th-6th at Ibn Battuta Mall was held to extend support of the Global Environmental Day and pay tribute to the numerous eco-friendly initiatives currently underway in Dubai.
There was a throng of visitors to the ENOC stand to view some of the company’s key environmentally friendly initiatives. Some of the key highlights that ENOC showcased included low sulphur diesel, which is invaluable to ensuring a cleaner environment. The leading oil and gas company leads by example by complying with the emission control standards in the UAE by introducing green fuel and lubricants for motorists in the country. Vulcan Green, Vulcan 880X, Protec Green, Protec Xtreme Energy, are based on new generation low sulphated ash additive technology, which helps minimise emission of green house gases whilst ensuring longer engine life.
Other key environmental spearheaded by ENOC include a water recyclable system at their employees accommodation, a plastic recycling system at ENOC headquarters, whereby all dry plastic material such as empty bags, sheets can now be deposited for recycling in the bins provided by Zenath Recycling and Waste Management.
In addition, ENOC recently signed a two-year deal with Clearwater, an innovative cleaning solutions provider, to offer ENOC/EPPCO service stations with a new eco-friendly and innovative cleaning system. ENOC, also recently introduced Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Dubai, having converted three abras from diesel engines to CNG in association with the Road Transport Authority.
Commenting on ENOC’s participation, Saeed Abdullah Khoory, ENOC Group Chief Executive said: “ENOC works with an ethos of environmental responsibility that shines through our operations, products, services and sites. We make sure that this commitment is shared by every person in the organisation through awareness programmes that highlight the environmental challenge and by deploying our collective strength and efforts to make a difference. ENOC has introduced innovative systems and operations across the company in line with our commitment to sustainability.”
With a strong Environment, Health and Safety Compliance department, ENOC is a strong contributor to environmental protection and interacts with international conservation agencies to update its knowledge and practices. In addition, ENOC Properties, the real estate arm of the ENOC Group is currently a member of the US Green Buildings Council, a non-profit community of leaders working to promote sustainable design, architecture and the management of buildings.
