Trading Enterprises, a member of the Al-Futtaim Group and sole distributor for Honda in the UAE is celebrating their new status as the leading independent Honda distributor worldwide thanks to record sales last year.

During 2007 Trading Enterprises experienced an impressive 30% rise in sales up on the previous year generating 16% market share of the UAE auto industry and securing their place at the top of the worldwide distributor network. Honda Motor Company Limited presented Guy Edmunds, Trading Enterprises General Manager – Honda with a trophy to commemorate the occasion.

Edmunds stated: “We are extremely proud of this record achievement. Demand for Honda products continues to grow on the basis of our strong product range available at affordable prices.

“In 2007 we launched the hugely successful Aerosport CRV alongside the revised Legend and all new Accord. These all received fantastic response in the market and together with the Civic have become the key pillars of the Honda range underpinning our success,” said Edmunds.

Commenting on future sales, Edmunds concluded: “The buoyant nature of the current UAE market will aid the continuation of this upward trend in sales. But with the arrival of the new Honda Accord coupe earlier this month and other exciting launches scheduled later this year, Honda sales are predicted to rise 22% on 2007. Another record year in the making.”

The UAE has become an important strategic market for Honda housing its largest showroom worldwide at the Automotive Park in Dubai Festival City. Covering a total floor area of 6,226 square metres, the showroom showcases Honda’s entire range of products including cars, Motorcycles, Power Products and outboard engines.
